Assistant Controller (CS26221)

The Assistant Controller will be responsible for planning and directing accounting activities for the company. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • The Assistant Controller will assist with preparing reports to summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Actively participate in the daily standard cost accounting function in an MRP environment.
  • Establish standard costs for all manufacturing parts and components. Review set-up of all new parts for completeness of required data.
  • Guide financial decisions, protect assets, and maintain financial security by monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures and enforcing internal controls.
  • Direct and participate in cost analyses and rate studies.
  • Achieve budgeted expense objectives by collecting, analyzing and recommending corrective actions early.
  • Provide leadership on design and implementation of operational accounting procedures in conjunction with the company’s strategic plan, policies, and GAAP.
  • Assist in the preparation of all weekly and month-end financial reporting including all appropriate supporting reports and provide proper analytical review.
  • Investigate and determine proper adjustments required for variances from standards.
  • Establish system controls for new financial systems and develop procedures to improve existing systems.
  • The Assistant Controller will perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

The Assistant Controller will possess the following:


•        The Assistant Controller will have 5+ years’ experience in a standard costing manufacturing environment. Prior public accounting experience preferred.

•        Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of SOX, revenue recognition, and standard cost accounting.

•        Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.

•        Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

•        The Assistant Controller will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Master’s degree preferred.
