Assistant Controller – Public Company (SK25810)

Our client is a global manufacturing company that is looking for an Assistant Controller to join their team.   This one of the top positions in the company and this person will manage the corporate accounting function. The Assistant Controller will lead the corporate accounting and reporting function including all SEC reporting activities. The Assistant Controller responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • The Assistant Controller will assist with preparing reports to summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Oversee and manage all general ledger activity.
  • Lead all external reporting efforts to the SEC, including 10K, 10Q, and 8K.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end close process.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Develop and analyze new business opportunities, revenue streams or cost saving ideas.
  • Assist management in other corporate areas such as financial planning and analysis, investor relations, treasury, acquisition due diligence and purchase accounting.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures with emphasis on internal controls.
  • The Assistant Controller will manage and provide leadership, coaching and training to a team of staff and senior staff.
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc reporting.

Job Requirements

The Assistant Controller will possess the following:



•        The Assistant Controller will have 10+ years’ progressive experience. Experience in a global manufacturing company and/or public accounting firm strongly preferred.

•        Experience leading the preparation of 10K, 10Q, and 8K required.

•        Strong computer skills including advanced experience in Excel and demonstrated knowledge in financial reporting tools. Experience with ERP highly preferred.

•        Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and influence leaders throughout the organization.

•        The Assistant Controller will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

•        CPA preferred.
