Our client is a growing distribution company that is looking for a Controller to join their team. The Controller will be responsible for the accounting and finance operations of the company. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Controller will prepare reports to summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Oversee and manage all accounting function activity including payroll processes, A/R, A/P, product/service costing, and general ledger.
  • Develop and distribute year-end inventory count instructions, as well as cycle count instructions during the year.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end close process.
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the implementation, setup and monitoring of the accounting software and company computer systems.
  • Coordinate the preparation and execution of the annual audit.
  • Oversee the cash management function, including banking relationships.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report.
  • Assume project leadership role in the development of the budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop staff through formal job descriptions, performance appraisals, leadership, new job experiences and promotional opportunities.
  • The Controller will perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

The Controller should possess the following:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • The Controller will have 8+ years’ related experience. Experience with inventory planning, analysis and control strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
  • The Controller will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA required.
