Cost Accountant (TC26449) – New Grads encouraged to apply!

Our client is a manufacturing company that is looking for a Cost Accountant to join their team. This is a newly created role due to growth of the company! With a growing accounting and finance team, there is significant opportunity for growth and advancement within the organization.  The company boasts a team-oriented culture, long-tenured employees, and excellent benefits and provides the tools and training necessary for their people to succeed. This position will have a strong finance mentor in the CFO.

The Cost Accountant will be involved in the daily financial operations of the manufacturing plant and be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Cost Accountant will determine, analyze and report costs of business projects and record results.
  • Update standard and actual costs in the bill of materials.
  • Apply overhead costs as required by GAAP.
  • General ledger account reconciliations and analysis as required.
  • Record and report on project cost data for use by management.
  • Coordinate and oversee the month-end closing process working directly with the corporate accounting team to include WIP processing, inventory control and analysis, etc.
  • Support daily processing of customer and vendor invoices and issue customer credit memos.
  • Process daily cash receipts and analyze accounts receivable to maintain zero invoices over 90 days.
  • The Cost Accountant will assist with other duties and special projects as needed.

Job Requirements

The Cost Accountant will possess the following:

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

  • The Cost Accountant will have 0+ years of accounting experience. New grads encouraged to apply!
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general accounting principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization is a must.
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
  • The Cost Accountant will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
