Cost Accountant

Our client is a specialty manufacturing company that is looking for a Cost Accountant to join their team.  This position offers a lot of autonomy and interfaces with many other departments within the company. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:


  • The Cost Accountant will determine, analyze and report costs of business projects and record results.
  • Coordinate physical inventory costs and investigate counting variances and resolve issues.
  • Update standard and actual costs in the bill of materials.
  • Apply overhead costs as required by GAAP.
  • Support month-end closing activities.
  • Record and report on project cost data for use by management.
  • Compile data to assist with monthly forecast estimates, annual budgets, and periodic forecasts.
  • The Cost Accountant will assist with other duties as needed.

Job Requirements

The Cost Accountant will possess the following:


  • The Cost Accountant will have 3+ years of cost and inventory accounting experience; manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Understanding of cost inventory management/operations and/or the willingness to learn cost accounting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of staff.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products. Experience with SAP required.
  • The Cost Accountant will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
