Our client, a growing real estate company, is currently looking for a Property Accountant to join their team.  This position will give the right person plenty of opportunity to learn a lot about real estate. The Property Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: 


  • The Property Accountant will compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.

  • Responsible for maintaining job costing ledgers.

  • Assist with cash management function including monitoring cash balances, maintaining cash summaries and preparing bank reconciliations.

  • Assist with the preparation of annual property budgets.

  • Assist in the review and preparation of tenant improvement draws.

  • Responsible for monthly general ledger closing process and preparing financial statements for real estate and non-real estate entities.

  • Summarize and analyze non-real estate, hotel and parking garage operations.

  • Provide accurate financial reports and analyses to property management and other departments.

  • The Property Accountant will perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

The Property Accountant will possess the following:


  • The Property Accountant will have 2+ years’ experience. Commercial real estate experience strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge and experience with GAAP and tax accounting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products.

  • The Property Accountant will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

  • CPA or working towards CPA certification preferred.
