The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a blend of analysis and accounting.  Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • The Senior Accountant will interpret operating results as they affect the organization and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Consolidation and preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.

  • Prepare complex general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling accounts.

  • Assist with the monthly close process.

  • Perform an analysis of government revenue and expenses and give reasons for monthly and year over year changes.

  • Compile and analyze monthly operating expenses including preparation of month end variance analysis to forecasts and budgets.

  • Prepare detailed and complex billing and reporting related to federal contracts, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Prepare financial management reports by gathering and analyzing information from general ledger system and from departments to meet the needs of internal and external customers.

  • Mentor Government and Expense Reporting Accountants and provide guidance on more complex reporting and work.

  • Assist in ensuring department adherence to internal controls.

  • The Senior Accountant will assist with other duties and ad hoc projects as needed.

Job Requirements

The Senior Accountant will possess the following:


  • The Senior Accountant will have 3+ years related experience including a strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statements.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products and advanced Excel skills.

  • The Senior Accountant will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • CPA and/or CPA eligible strongly preferred.
