Senior Accountant (SK26726)

Our client is a leading and well-respected non-profit organization that is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team.  With a growing accounting and finance team, there is significant opportunity for growth and advancement within the organization.  The company boasts a team-oriented culture and provides its’ employees with the tools and training necessary to succeed.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:


  • The Senior Accountant will interpret operating results as they affect the organization and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare and review general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with grant reports and restricted fund compliance.
  • Assist with month-end close procedures.
  • Complete financial reports and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Prepare and compile information for annual financial audit as well as any grant audits.
  • Prepare transactions associated with acquisition, depreciation, impairment, and disposition of fixed assets. Maintain the fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules and provide details to the Controller.
  • Manage and monitor expenses and reporting requirements for different funding sources to assist with the grant reporting.
  • The Senior Accountant will perform other duties as needed.

Job Requirements

The Senior Accountant will possess the following:


  • The Senior Accountant will have 2-5 years’ related experience; non-profit experience strongly preferred. Public accounting experience desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with GAAP.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with multiple levels of management.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products and accounting software.
  • The Senior Accountant will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA preferred.
