Senior Tax Accountant


Our client is a growing manufacturing company that is currently looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team. This position will provide the opportunity to obtain a broad based knowledge in all areas of state and domestic income tax. The Senior Tax Accountant will focus on tax compliance, and planning and analysis. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Senior Tax Accountant will actively participate in the quarterly and annual provision process.
  • Lead the preparation of tax filings including the consolidated federal income tax return, state income/franchise tax returns, international reporting forms (5471’s), quarterly estimated tax payments, extensions, amended returns, maintenance of tax software, and miscellaneous federal and state reporting as needed.
  • Research technical tax issues in the federal, state and international areas of the law considering the applicable facts of the company’s business.
  • Support the global tax provision process and prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end income tax provision for domestic and foreign affiliates.
  • Develop an understanding of the business portfolio and build relationships within the finance function and the various business segments in order to provide tax compliance assistance to all of the company’s global locations.
  • Model various tax scenarios and complete calculations on an as needed basis.
  • Support the business in various fringe benefit tax-related matters.
  • Lead and/or support various tax audits by outside regulatory agencies. Respond to tax notices received from the various tax authorities.
  • The Senior Tax Accountant will assist with other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

The Senior Tax Accountant will possess the following:


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • The Senior Tax Accountant will have 5+ years’ relevant tax experience. Public accounting or a corporate tax department experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel and tax preparation software.
  • The Senior Tax Accountant will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.  
  • CPA or working towards CPA desired.
