Tax Analyst



Our client is a leading transportation company that is looking for a Tax Analyst to join their team.  This position is newly created due to growth! The Tax Analyst will assist in a variety of tax areas and be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:



RESPONSIBILITIES


  • The Tax Analyst will assist with the tax accounting including tax account analysis, reconciliation of general ledger tax accounts, and tax entries.

  • Prepare responses to federal and state tax authority notices and inquiries for various tax types.

  • Prepare miscellaneous tax filings.

  • Prepare and/or summarize financial data and other information required for the preparation of annual income tax returns by outside preparers.

  • Conduct federal and state tax research for various tax types such as income, sales/use, property, etc.

  • Prepare quarterly tax calculations for estimated tax and financial reporting purposes.

  • Assist with resolution of federal and state tax audits.

  • Prepare internal memoranda, written correspondence/guidance regarding federal and state tax matters.

  • Assist with documentation of tax policies and procedures, and related internal controls.

  • The Tax Analyst will perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

The Tax Analyst will possess the following:



EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


  • The Tax Analyst will have 1-2 years’ tax experience, public accounting experience preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

  • Strong computer skills including Excel and tax preparation software.

  • The Tax Analyst will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; MST a plus.

  • CPA or working towards CPA preferred.
